What type of group is the property best suited to?

Penblaith Barn and Trevase Granary are ideal for group getaways, multi-generational family gatherings, milestone birthdays, anniversaries and celebrations, reunions, corporate gatherings, walking groups, hobby groups and hen parties. With eight en-suite bedrooms, generous social spaces and facilities including a cinema room, games room, hot tub and bar area, both properties are designed to comfortably accommodate groups of up to 18 guests, plus infants in cots.

Can we visit the property before booking?

Yes. We are happy to arrange viewings by appointment where possible. As the properties are frequently occupied, viewings may be restricted during busy periods. Please get in touch and we will do our best to arrange a suitable time.

Do you offer Blue Light, or any other types of discount?

As a small family-run business, we aim to offer the best value to all guests from the outset, rather than inflating prices and offering discount codes. For this reason, we do not currently offer Blue Light, NHS or other membership-based discounts.

What can we watch in the cinema room?

The cinema rooms provide access to Sky, Sky Cinema, Sky Sports, TNT Sports, Disney+, Netflix, HBO Max and Discovery+. Guests can enjoy films, sport, documentaries and family entertainment throughout their stay.

Are we able to connect a laptop to the cinema room?

Yes. Both cinema rooms allow guests to connect a laptop via HDMI. Full instructions are provided within the property guide.

Is the games room private?

Yes. The games room is exclusively for your group’s use throughout your stay and is not shared with any other guests. Penblaith Barn and Trevase Granary are located 5 miles apart so each have their own exclusive facilities.

How many people can the dining table seat?

Both Penblaith Barn and Trevase Granary have banquet-style dining tables with seating for up to 20 guests, allowing your whole group to dine together comfortably.

Can beds be configured as twins or doubles?

Penblaith Barn has four and Trevase Granary has three bedrooms with flexible zip-and-link beds which can be arranged as either super king or twin beds. Please see our Floor Plans page for individual bedroom layouts, and Penblaith Barn ‘Bedrooms & Layout’ or Trevase Granary ‘Bedrooms & Layout’. Let us know your preferred configuration at least two weeks before arrival.

Is the hot tub available all year?

Yes. The hydrotherapy hot tubs are available throughout the year. At Penblaith Barn, the hot tub is located outdoors on the raised patio. At Trevase Granary, the hot tub is located indoors within the games room.

How do I use the EV chargers?

Penblaith Barn and Trevase Granary both provide complimentary EV charging, including two Tesla charging points and one universal EV charger. Charging cables are provided for all chargers, allowing most electric vehicles to charge directly at the property.

Simple operating instructions are displayed on-site. If you require any assistance during your stay, we are always happy to help.

Are dogs allowed?

Dogs are not permitted at Penblaith Barn or Trevase Granary, with the exception of registered assistance dogs, which must be agreed in advance.

Celebrations, Dining & Experiences

Can we arrange a private chef?

Yes. We work with a range of trusted private chefs who can provide everything from informal sharing platters and BBQ feasts to fine dining experiences. Please see our Dining In page for recommended suppliers.

Can we arrange treatments or activities at the property?

Absolutely. Many guests choose to enhance their stay with in-house treatments, yoga and Pilates classes, team-building activities, cookery experiences, photography sessions and more.

Can we bring our own supplier?

If you wish to use a supplier not listed on our recommended pages, this must be agreed in writing in advance. Third-party suppliers must hold appropriate public liability insurance, and we must hold a copy of their insurance certificate before they attend the property. Suppliers without prior approval will be refused access.

Can groceries be delivered to the property?

Yes. All major supermarkets deliver to Penblaith Barn and Trevase Granary. Most guests arrange a delivery for shortly after check-in on arrival day. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept or unpack grocery deliveries before your arrival.

Can we decorate the property?

Yes, we welcome tasteful decorations for celebrations. However, to avoid damage, we do not allow tape, Blu Tack, drawing pins, nails or similar fixings on walls, doors, furniture or beams. We recommend using freestanding decorations, or attaching decorations to the subtle string and mini pegs provided throughout the property.

Can we bring candles?

Battery-operated candles are welcome. For safety reasons, naked flames, including candles, tea lights and indoor fireworks, are not permitted inside the property.

Can we organise flowers, cakes or decorations?

Yes. We work with a number of trusted local suppliers who can provide celebration cakes, balloons, flowers, property decorations and other special touches before your arrival. Please see our Pre-Arrival section within Property Services for details.

Can we celebrate a birthday or anniversary?

Absolutely. Penblaith Barn and Trevase Granary regularly host milestone birthdays, anniversaries, family reunions, retirement celebrations, hen parties and many other special occasions.

Is the property suitable for guests with limited mobility?

Both properties offer features that may assist guests with limited mobility, including ground-floor accommodation and a range of accessibility aids available on request. As individual requirements vary, we recommend reviewing our Accessibility page for full details or contacting us to discuss your specific needs.

Do you provide accessibility equipment?

Yes. We offer a range of complimentary accessibility aids, including items such as shower stools, toilet frames and raised toilet seats. Please see our Accessibility page for the full list and let us know your requirements before arrival.

Is there a ground-floor bedroom?

Yes. Both Penblaith Barn and Trevase Granary offer ground-floor bedroom accommodation. Please refer to our Floor Plans and Accessibility pages for full bedroom layouts and accessibility information.

Do you provide cots and highchairs?

Yes. We offer a range of complimentary infant equipment, including cots, highchairs and stairgates. Please see our Family Features page for the full list and let us know what you require before arrival.

Are the properties suitable for multi-generational family groups?

Yes. Penblaith Barn and Trevase Granary are regularly enjoyed by multi-generational family groups. With eight en-suite bedrooms, generous communal spaces, entertainment facilities and a range of family-friendly equipment available, both properties are well suited to bringing different generations together under one roof while ensuring there is plenty to keep all ages entertained.

Getting Here & The Local Area

What is the nearest pub and can I walk to a pub?

There are a wealth of excellent pubs and restaurants nearby. Please explore our Plan Your Stay page for recommendations. If you’re looking to walk to a pub directly from the property:

Penblaith Barn: The Royal Arms at Llangrove is the nearest pub and can be reached via public footpath within a 30–45 minute on foot (or 8 minutes via car).

Trevase Granary: The Harewood End Inn is the nearest pub and can be reached via country lanes and public footpath within a 30–45 minute on foot (or 6 minutes via car).

What is the nearest shop or supermarket?

Penblaith Barn: The nearest option is St Weonards Village Store (approximately 2.8 miles / 5 minutes by car), offering extended opening hours and a convenient choice for everyday essentials. For a wider range, Monmouth is just 5 miles away (around 10 minutes by car), with Lidl, Waitrose and M&S Food all available.

Trevase Granary: The nearest option is Pengethley Farm Shop (approximately 2.8 miles / 5 minutes by car), offering everyday essentials alongside a range of local Herefordshire produce, including a meat and cheese counter. St Weonards Village Store (approximately 2.3 miles / 5 minutes by car) provides extended opening hours and a convenient option for essentials, while Carrot & Wine Store (approximately 4 miles / 8 minutes) is another nearby choice. For larger supermarkets, Ross-on-Wye (approximately 7 miles) offers Morrisons, Aldi, Sainsbury’s and Co-op.

Is a car essential?

We strongly recommend having access to a car. Whilst there are some walks and pubs nearby, our properties are located in rural Herefordshire and a vehicle provides the greatest flexibility for exploring the area.

Can I get a taxi?

Yes. Several local taxi companies operate in the area. We recommend booking well in advance, particularly for evenings, weekends and larger groups. Please see our Taxi and Mini-bus page.

What walks can we do directly from the property?

There are a number of walks available directly from both properties, ranging from gentle countryside strolls to longer pub walks. We provide a selection of our favourite local routes within the digital Property Guide sent before your arrival.

Is there fishing nearby?

Complimentary fishing is available at Andy’s Fishing Lake for overnight guests. Please see our Fishing Breaks page for information on Andy’s Fishing Lake and fishing opportunities on the River Wye.

What can we do on a rainy day?

There is plenty to enjoy whatever the weather, including castles, museums, indoor attractions, escape rooms, food and drink experiences, shopping and cinemas. Please see our Explore the Area page and select the ‘Wet Weather Activities’ filter for inspiration.

Penblaith Barn and Trevase Granary also offer extensive on-site facilities, including a cinema room, games room and hot tub.

During Your Stay

Is Wi-Fi available?

Yes. Both properties benefit from fibre-to-premises broadband with Wi-Fi available throughout the property.

Is there mobile signal?

Mobile signal varies depending on network provider and exact location within the property, although most major networks have good coverage at Trevase Granary and Penblaith Barn. Wi-Fi calling is also an option if supported by your device and network.

Who do we contact if we need help during our stay?

Can we arrange additional housekeeping?

Additional housekeeping may be available by prior arrangement, subject to availability. Please contact us before your stay to discuss your requirements.

What should I bring with me?

All you need is your food, drink and personal items. Bed linen, towels, toiletries and a wide range of kitchen essentials are provided. Please see our What’s Included page for full details.

Do we need to bring fuel for the BBQ or pizza oven?

No. A complimentary fuel pack for one evening of pizza making is provided, along with gas for the BBQ (available April to October inclusive). Additional pizza oven fuel packs can be purchased in advance if required. Please see our What’s Included page for full details.

What type of coffee machine is provided?

Both properties feature a bean-to-cup coffee machine. A complimentary 250g bag of locally roasted coffee beans is included within your welcome basket.

Can we bring a fire pit or chiminea?

No. For safety reasons, guests are not permitted to bring fire pits, chimineas, outdoor heaters or similar items to the property. Designated BBQ (available April to October inclusive) and pizza ovens (available all year round) are available for outdoor cooking.

Can we set off fireworks or sky lanterns?

No. Fireworks, sky lanterns and similar items are not permitted.

Can we fly a drone at the property?

No. Drone use is not permitted in order to protect the privacy of neighbouring properties and avoid disturbance to livestock.

Can we play music outside?

Music may be played outdoors until 10.00pm. We simply ask that volume levels remain considerate of neighbours and that no outdoor noise continues after 10.00pm.
